Where Do We Hide the Body?

We are coming to the end of this story and I am getting all of it "packaged" for the comic book release at Anime Detour. I am not exactly sure whats going to happen after that, but I do know that I will be taking some time off for the summer and then we start up again in September...we'll see.

Spring Con at the Minnesota Fairgrounds.

I am sitting re-publishing my invitation to "Anime Detour" and I thought I would also let all of you know that I will be at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds May 17th and 18th for MCBA's "Spring Con" as well. I will be there with many other talented artist selling my new stuff (that I will let you know about later!) and just hanging out and having fun, come out to see us and "...buy some stuff!"

161 Bus Trading Card Club Update.

The cards for St. Patrick's Day went out to the kids last Friday, since this week we are on Spring Break. Everybody that was on the bus got one and they seemed to go over well.

I am not sure if I posted this in February or not but the Valentines Day cards got out on time and were a success as well. My little kids start asking for them about a week before hand just so I remember. :)

I have been invited to be a Featured Artist at "Anime Detour"!!

With going on vacation over Christmas break and the many other projects on the horizon, this date snuck up on me, I also have to say being INVITED to this is a true honor.

At one of my last shows I was at, I was approached by Anton Petersen, the Guest Relations Head for Anime Detour and he asked to be a Featured Artist. I had met Anton a year or so earlier through a mutual friend, Daniel Mohr (creator of of the cartoon "Every Day Gods",) who "encouraged" Anton to invite me. I have to tell you, I am totally excited for this show. This will be our first year there, Shannon and I will both be there and I am excited at meeting new fans. I have heard a lot about this show and can't wait to go.

April 4th through the 6th, if your available, come on over to the Double Tree in Bloomington, MN and say "hi"...buy some stuff, and enjoy what is sure to be an enjoyable Con.

Back, rested and ready for a new year...of "Doodleton"??

After a nice vacation with Shannon, I feel better than ever and am ready to start the new year, so with that in mind it gives me great pleasure to announce that as of the 1st of this year Cartoons By Sketch Studios is going back to its original format of cartooning strips. To do so, I am starting a new strip that many of you have seen already but only in "snippits", that I am calling "Doodleton".

This comic strip allows me to get back to the basic cartooning skills that I have wanted to do since I was young. For the last few months I have been going back and forth on whether I should keep going with the comic book format or just go back and after giving much thought to it I chose the later. While I still will be publishing collections I am going to put things into a different direction.

There is already a full month of the strips published right now, you can find them here or you can find them published most of the time through my Facebook account from now on.

You will notice that I have changed my style a little bit, but the basics are still there. This new style for me is faster, it's cleaner, and I can handle more than a single project at a time. As of right now there are only a couple of central characters and where we go from here is ANYBODY'S guess ;), but after not really publishing anything online for a little over a year, it's good to be back. Thank you to those of you for always asking.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. Thank you to everyone for the support and encouragement. Most importantly, thank you to my fans and those who follow my work, you are an inspiration to me.

Always,
Sketch

Let's get this started!
