Falendor Update.

Im running late and have to get to the bus garage here soon. I managed to get pages 19 and 20 penciled and page 19 is inked as well.

Earlier today I put the count down on the top of this page and cartoonsbysketch.com, I thought it was a great idea since people have started asking to purchase them. When Shannon got a peek at it she said to me: "Whoa! No pressure or anything!" I didn't have any until NOW! THANKS A LOT!! :)

New Blog setup and Falendor update.

My sister pointed out to me yesterday that I had not posted in a while and I did not remember until just now. Over the last week I have been doing a new route at work and I had some down time to get some work done and I have been focused on that, sorry for not posting in a while. I have a list of things.

First of all you will notice that I took ALL of my existing blogs (i.e. Falendor, Tangles, Trading Cards and Barney) and I have placed them ALL here, its a whole lot easier this way, for you as well as me and I did not realize just exactly how MUCH has been going on until I put it all together. I will be posting them under the title of (name of work) update.

Next, as of this weekend I have started on the layout and penciling portion of Falendor.

With each one of those white sheets being a page in the comic book.
Then I started working blue line specifically of Sir R.o.D. splash pages, and a couple of the story sheets.

Last week I aslo started working on "The Princess" an illustration page inside the comic. This is just a preliminary and just ignore the notes..I am working through problems at the same time as drawing her.

Plus I am just finishing up on the final rendition of Sir R.o.D.

Finally, I am ALSO working on the three women who own the tavern where the story of Sir R.o.D. starts out, these were just thoughts but I think there funny, maybe you'll recognize them.

Ok, so with that being worked on, I have also finished up the script for Sir R.o.D for the comic, and ideas are already starting to come for the next one :)

For the Spring Con show on the 18th and 19th of May I will be releasing TWO different kind of comicbooks for Falendor one will be the standard comic and the second will be a special edition limited run comic that will be just like the other one but will have FOURTH STORY, two trading cards and a special cover that I can draw on. I will only be doing a small number of these and I think they will go fast. I will be selling these at Spring Con only so come by and get one while they last.

Thank you for all your support and thanks to all of you for your ideas as well.

I will post more this week...promise.

"Sir Raymond of Dale" preliminary sketchs are up!

During the course of the last week I have been working on just getting some of the work for "Falendor" completed. Over the last two days I have finished "Sir Raymond of Dale" or "Sir R.O.D." as I call him.

Since we have officially been invited to "Spring Con" on May 18th and 19th, I have decided THAT'S where I am going to be releasing the first copies of "Falendor" and also release the LAST book of "Small Town Values."

Here is the intro for "Sir RoD":
"Trying to prove himself in a world where chivalry is but a rumor, honor is only whispered of and courageousness is reserved for all but the dead, our Hero is in search of the mystical, Ring of Eternity. He battles on through every quest hoping that after each encounter he is one step closer to achieving his prize.

He is courageous, dependable and ...without a clue ... he is, Sir Raymond of Dale.

Our first show of the year!

It's official, we have been invited to the M.C.B.A.'s 25th Anniversary "Spring Con!" This two day event is held at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds, May 18th & 19th, 2013!!!!!

I have to tell you that this is an honor for me to be here, this organization puts on an incredible show, and takes great care of their artists as well as their visitors. I will be doing some trading cards for them to hand out at the door as a special gift for a some of the visitors.

For this show I will be releasing this last and final edition of the "Small Town Values" collection, as well as I will also be releasing the introduction to "Falendor: The Forgotten Kingdom." This will be the first place to get them, so stop by and see us!

If you can make this GREAT event PLEASE DO and help support this great organization as well as some talented artists.

Some New Work

While I am going to be leaving tommarow for the funeral of my mother-in-law in South Eastern Wisconsin, I am still going to try to get a little work done if nothing else, while on the road. This weekend I did a little discovering and found out that I really like a certain art style. This style is a cross between illustration and cartooning and can be very intricate, the style is the very same one that childrens author Richard Scary and Mad Magazines Sergio Aragonés have been doing for years but its got a bit of "tangleing" too it as well. I sat in front of the tv for a couple of hours and came up with both of these pieces. They are SUPER relaxing and you can just let your mind wander while drawing, perfect after whats been going on around here!

"Chess Pieces" Technical Pen & Ink, original size approx 4" x 4"

"Doodle-ton" Pencil, original approx 8.5" x 11"

We leave EARLY tomorrow am. This is anything BUT a vacation, but I want to make it good for Shannon.

3 Logos are done!

Even though its been a busy weekend I have managed to get the first three logos finished.

I have managed to "mash together" a couple of my note books but because of this week being the last week that I have to practice my new bus route, I don't know how much work I will be getting done, but we'll see. Let me know what you think of them. I think I have about 5 or 6 to go.
