A bus load of work!

With the commission being finished this weekend, I have started working on the web comic "Falendor: Raymond of Dale" I was trying to have it set for its debut TODAY but I think sometime next week would be a better choice. I have some other projects going on at the same time that I have called "The Daily Paddles"; these are actually daily "tests" (ie. warmups) that I just soup up with my phone and just from today I have noticed that people are likening them, so I will be doing more:) I am also doing some work for ANOTHER show in November, more details on that later.

Here is the work that I finished Friday and today.....STV may not be in production anymore but I feel like it is :)

The Finish of Falendor #1 and Spring Con

First of all, I apologize for not posting until now but for the last few weeks I have done nothing but drive bus then drive home, work on coloring and inking, drive back to work, drive bus, then drive home, sleep, and the next day repeat the procedure. For a while it was nothing but a blur with days blending together.

By the time everything was said and done, the printing of Falendor #1 got off with a very few amount of hitches. I had to change a few things but that is to be expected. In the end we went to Spring Con with a big box of Special Edition Falendor Comics and we sold EVERYONE OF THEM!!! The turnout from friends, family and fans was INCREDIBLE. All Special Editions sold and most of the regular Falendors were all gone by Sunday night. We sold a huge amount of the trading cards as well, to say nothing of the comissioned work that I am working this week to finish. All in all, MCBA put on a GREAT show, lots of people, good friends, just an excellent show. I am working on organizing the small amount of pictures that we did get and I will be posting them in the next few posts.

I am currently working on finishing the commisioned work that I have been paid for and writing the new scripts for the next Falendor and maybe I'll get a couple cards put back in the book too, just for fun this week.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and showed support, it was great of all of you and to the MCBA...THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Personal Update: A Lesson Learned From a 2 Year Old.

This weekend my Niece brought her boyfriend, son and her mother over so that her son could see all the trains that I have running in the house. This photo was taken by her mother in our basement. I had been sitting at the computer all morning before they arrived and was a little worn out. It was fun to see everything through the "fresh eyes" of a 2 year old. After they left town I went back down stairs, started up the trains and just stared at the table again and for just a while watched the trains go round and round...a good lesson taught by a 2 year old, thanks Gabriel.

Flanedor Update 4/14/13

I think I have gotten the system down in the last couple of days, I have drawn and ink more in the last 3 days than I think I have in the last 3 weeks. I manage to in all of LAST weeks panels as well as Thursday thru today I have drawn pages 26 through 32. The 2 others that I have shown the roughs to have said that it is better than most of the work to date. I'll put the pencil works below.

I was also invited to do a little plug for Falendor for Casey's Podcast, "The Department of Offense" at Blindninjastudios.com. Thanks Casey, it was fun. You can find the interview at my site cartoonsbysketch.com. Let me know if it works for you, some have had problems.

For the rest of this week I am going to be doing the inking, the last penciling and some ad work for the comic, wish me luck.

Falendor Update 4/7/13

My weekend has FLOWN by but I did manage to get pages 8, 9, 10, and 11 penciled

(These first two I redid because I didn't like the way that the fairy turned out so I redid the character setup and in the process we renamed her..."Ella Kalen" in Saxon & Celtic, as far as I can tell from the translations, is it means "little warrior" or "angelic trouble" I thought it was perfect. )

and then I managed to get pages 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 inked! The one thing I can promise is that this work is more detailed than all the work I have done before. Now? Now it's time for me to go spend the rest of my Sunday Night with my wife.

Falendor Update 4/2

This weekend I finnished up penciling one of the stories and then turned around and finished inking them as well. Here are some of the pencils.

This morning I started penciling yet another story and will be finishing up inking them later this week. I have kicked it into overdrive and am frantically trying to get this all set up and working...in between bus routes!
